On Wednesday, the Canucks retained their position in the draft lottery, setting the up to pick ninth for the fourth time in franchise history.

Thanks Carol, excellent job, as usual.

Thanks for pointing out the Canucks picks at #9, and I for 1 will be thrilled if McTavish is selected at #9. As you pointed out, the Canucks have had success picking at 9, albeit, they succeeded elsewhere.

That was a exciting play by Stecher, on that GWG.

Thx Carol! Pray for Hughes! Reuby’s meltdown would be wonderful.

Benning has identified 9 top prospects in this draft, he’s in a great spot heading into this draft

Thanks Carol! Man, I'm sure Benning would love a clean slate with no messy contracts... maybe we can ship him to Seattle to be happy and live out the rest of his days?

That would be a nightmare for Canucks fans. Benning would build a great core for Seattle just like he has here

Oh man, didn't even think of that. So scary. Shoot. I'm not sure, but I wonder how many teams around the league would take on Benning as GM if they could at this instance. Probably all of them eh? Very scary nightmares

Seattle just seems like the fun new expansion team right now, but they'll soon become a hated rival of Canuck fans, surpassing the rivalry we have with the Albertan teams. Benning joining Seattle in any capacity in the future, especially one where he has influence on their drafting would be terrible news for the Canucks

Better get another 5 year extension in place right away so he doesn’t walk in two years to build up the competition.

You are right. I am such the fool. Yolk on my face! How much better the Seattle team would be with a GM that finished 8th, 28th, 29th, 26th, 23rd, 17th, 24th. Scary nightmare scenarios!

I think our 3 most likely picks are Clarke, McTavish or Guenther.

Just think of the salary cap problems the Canucks would have with all those draft picks. Team can’t actually afford that kind of success. They better cut ties with Jim right now or the team will be too successful fir their own good.

What’s the odds that JB had nine players on his want list and he got 9th place in the draft lottery? Phenomenal really.
